Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2027: Apply Now

 

Admissions to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur are done through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). Students who have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2026, or appearing in 2027, in ANY STREAM (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear for UCEED 2027.

The online registration with regular fees will start from 5 pm on October 1, 2026. The deadline for the same is October 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for applying for B.Des.

To apply for admission to the B.Des programmes of the participating institutes, i.e., IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur, an applicant is required to fulfil ALL the following three criteria simultaneously.

Criterion 1 – Age limit:
The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2002, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1997, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Criterion 2 – UCEED qualification:
The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2027.

Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination:
The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2026 or 2027. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2025 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Candidates from the Science Stream (at 10+2 level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all seven participating institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur). Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore

The candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2027 should ensure the following:

1. All parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission. However, in exceptional cases where the qualifying examination is expected to be held after the date of application for admission, candidates must contact UCEED office by email addressed to uceed@iitb.ac.in
2. Proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility is submitted by September 30, 2027 to the admitting institute.

If a qualifying Examination Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and upload it along with the grade sheet. In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the UCI Committee will be final and binding.

The criteria, as specified above, apply “in toto” to all applicants, including foreign nationals. Seats allotted to foreign nationals are supernumerary, capped at 10% of the total seats in a program. Applications from foreign nationals holding OCI/PIO cards issued BEFORE 4th March 2021 are only considered under the OPEN category. They are outside the ambit of seat reservation under the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories.

The admitting institutes have the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of a candidate in accordance with their rules and regulations in force, if it is found that any information provided by the candidate is incorrect or incomplete.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN (NID) ADMISSIONS 2027–28: APPLY NOW

 

1. DAT – Design Aptitude Test

The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is the entrance examination for admission to NID’s B.Des. and 5.5-year Professional Education Master of Design (Integrated Pathway) programmes. DAT is designed to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills and behavioural abilities.

Candidates submit one online application for both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

3. ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must satisfy both age and educational qualification requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2/equivalent examination in the academic year 2026–27, from a recognised board. Candidates from Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities or any other stream can apply.

For candidates appearing in Class XII in 2026–27:

·         The qualifying examination must be passed in the first attempt.

·         The Class XII marksheet must be submitted by 15 July 2027.

·         Candidates with backlog, compartment or supplementary examination are not eligible for admission.

6. DAT PRELIMS – STAGE 1

·         Common examination for all NIDs.

·         Conducted at designated test centres across India.

·         DAT Prelims score is used only for shortlisting candidates for DAT Mains.

·         Prelims marks are not carried forward as weightage to DAT Mains.

·         Appearing in Prelims or being shortlisted does not guarantee admission.

·         The question paper is in English only.

·         Candidates must arrange their own travel and accommodation.

7. DAT MAINS – STAGE 2

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of DAT Prelims will be called for DAT Mains.

DAT Mains consists of: 1. Studio Sensitivity Test 2. In-Person Sensitivity Test

For each category, the number of candidates shortlisted for DAT Mains will be 2.5 times the available seats.

The DAT Mains score is used for admission to the respective NID. Details of the Mains examination will be announced later.

9. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Apply online only:

1.    Visit the official NID admissions website.

2.    Read the eligibility, seats, test centres and reservation information.

3.    Register/Sign up using programme, nationality, category, valid email and active mobile number.

4.    Fill in the online application form.

5.    Upload photograph, signature and applicable certificates.

6.    Pay the application fee.

7.    Submit the application.

8.    Download/print the automatically generated application form and keep it safely.

9.    Download the Admit Card from the NID website when released.

'Hindi Book Exhibition' in connection with Hindi Month Celebrations – 2026 @ KVD Donimalai

 

A Hindi Book Exhibition was inaugurated today, 16 September 2026, at Kendriya Vidyalaya Donimalai as part of the Hindi Month Celebrations. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal, Sh. Banshi Lal, in the presence of members of the teaching staff and the students.

Sh. Santhosh Kumar, PGT Hindi; Ms. Poonam Nautiyal, TGT Hindi; and Sh. Muhammed Shafi V, Librarian, were also present on the occasion.

A wide variety of Hindi books belonging to different genres have been displayed in the school library. The exhibition includes books covering areas such as fiction, poetry, biographies, inspirational literature, essays, general literature and other enriching reading materials. The exhibition aims to encourage students to develop an interest in Hindi literature and cultivate the habit of reading.

The Principal appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to make use of the exhibition and explore the richness and diversity of Hindi literature.

The exhibition will remain open for students and staff and will be concluded on 18 September 2026.

The programme provided an opportunity for students to discover new books, explore different genres of Hindi literature, and strengthen their love for the Hindi language and reading.

Independence Day 2026 – Book Exhibition

As part of the Independence Day 2026 celebrations, the Vidyalaya Library organised a special Book Exhibition on the theme “Footprints in History: The Path to Independence”. The exhibition showcased a carefully selected collection of books highlighting India’s freedom struggle, the lives and contributions of national leaders, important historical events, and the journey towards independence. The display aimed to create awareness among students about India’s rich history and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, while encouraging them to explore books and develop a deeper interest in the nation’s past.  Kendriya Vidyalaya Donimalai marked a significant milestone on July 16, 2026, with the launch of its Digital Library by Shri R. Pramod, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Regional Office Bengaluru. An engaging online storytelling session titled "Read and Grow Through Stories" was conducted today for the students of Classes IV and V by renowned Storyteller and Story Coach Ms. Neena Girish.

The session as a part of National Reading month was highly interactive, inspiring, and enriching. Through captivating stories, Ms. Girish encouraged students to develop a love for reading, enhance their imagination, and learn valuable life lessons. The students participated enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Reading Competition Inspires Young Readers at KV Donimalai

Donimalai, June 27, 2026: As part of the National Reading Month Celebrations 2026, Kendriya Vidyalaya Donimalai organised a Reading Competition to foster a love for reading and enhance students' reading skills.

More than 60 students enthusiastically participated in the competition. Each participant was given a storybook placed on the stage and allowed five minutes to read and familiarise themselves with the text before presenting it aloud before the audience.

The participants were evaluated by a panel of judges on the basis of their pronunciation, fluency, confidence, clarity, and overall reading skills. The competition provided students with an excellent opportunity to improve their public reading abilities while boosting their self-confidence.

The event witnessed active participation and enthusiastic support from students and teachers alike. It successfully promoted the joy of reading and reinforced the importance of developing effective reading habits as part of the National Reading Month Celebrations.
